Food in Korea

Hoeddeok: it's really like a donut straight off the fryer with  a cinnamon, sugar, and nutty syrup inside. Delicious!

Dakjuk Chicken Porridge A yummy chicken soup

Korean food always comes with these little plates of side dishes. That's kimchi on the left, pork in the middle, and something spicy on the right.

Dinner at a bar came with a fried egg

Spicy radishes and giant sugary cereal type things

Korean Rice Wine

Served in bowls

Seafood Pancake with squid and shrimp. Delicious.

Ground beef (or pork?) with soft rice cakes

A cold soup, slightly spicy soup with rice

Cutting the kimchi

Tea

Flower Tea

Rice cookie

Gimbap- kind of like sushi but without the fish

Tteokbokki: chewy rice cakes with a hot sauce

My dinner on the DMZ Tour Bibimbap: a mixed rice dish with egg and veggies

Some kind of red bean donut

I got really excited because I saw a pretzel...

But it was full of some sort of a custard... not a fan.

Another seafood pancake!

Another bibimbap, this time it was sizzling!
They have Dunkin Donuts in Korea. I had to. Glutinous Rice Donut and Cookies n' Cream Coffee

My final meal, of course kimchi

More rice wine

Potato Pancakes: pretty dull actually, not much taste.

These things were full of ice cream

Tornado Potato. So big!

Lots of squid! Flattened, headed and served!

Very thing hallow bread with a bit of a cinnamon and sugar coating

Food in Vietnam

The food in Vietnam is not only amazing but also extremely cheap.

Pho and local beer

Elephant Fish
Banh mi- A Vietnamese sandwich with meat and veggies

Rambutan is a delicious fruit kind of like lychee

I had a lot of street food while I was in Vietnam. Most of the time I didn't know what I was getting and just pointed to whatever looked good. So, I'm afraid I don't know what most of the things I ate are called!
Some kind of noodles

A sweet bread

Grilled corn on the cob

No idea what this one is. It's a sweet rice cake of some sort?

This was delicious. Grilled sweet rice with a banana in the middle then cut up and covered with a sweet tapioca

Corn with dried shrimp. I bought it before he added the dried shrimp, wasn't really a fan

Drinks

Cheep and delicious beer

Straight from the coconut

Sugar cane juice, my new favorite

I never liked coffee, but there's something about the Vietnamese coffee that even I got addicted to. They use condensed milk to make it extra yummy!
This is the famous brand that Vietnam is known for. I wasn't that impressed

I liked the coffee at the little places on the street much better.

And then there's the Banh Xeo. It's almost like a crispy crepe filled with pork, shrimp, onion, and been sprouts. You cut up the crepe put some mustard leaves and basil on it, then wrap it in lettuce leaves and dip it in a sauce.
The first one I got in a restaurant.

Banh xeo being cooked

My breakfast on my last day in Vietnam. I found a sweet lady cooking on the sidewalk and she set up a little table for me. People were stopping by on their scooters and she was handing them a banh xeo and a bag of leaves.

And of course, the mangosteen, only the most delicious fruit I've ever tasted!
